The Health Ministry has advised the National Security Council (NSC) to extend the recovery movement control order (MCO) beyond Aug 31, says Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
The Health Minister said that the decision was now up to the NSC and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“The ministry has made the proposal to consider extending the MCO until we get better control of the situation.
“The Prime Minister will announce this soon as the recovery MCO period until Aug 31 is almost coming to an end,” he said after launching the Social Security Organisation (Socso) Prihatin 10gara Selamat program at Dewan Felda Bukit Besar on Sunday (Aug 23).
Dr Adham also said the World Health Organisation (WHO) had predicted that the Covid-19 pandemic would be around for at least two more years. – The Star
