The Conference of Rulers will be holding a special meeting tomorrow to discuss the ongoing formation of the new government.

The meeting is being convened for the rulers to come to a decision that would be in the interest of the people and the country.

In a statement, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah wished for the rakyat to pray and remain calm until the process of the formation of the new government is completed.

He said the country’s future was too precious and a very careful deliberation was needed to chart it.

“The people have made their choice in electing their representatives. It is now up to the elected representatives to end the political impasse.”

The special meeting will be held at Istana Negara at 10.30 am tomorrow and is expected to last at least three hours.

The Yang Dipertuan Agong has been trying to put up a unity government comprising Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional but has failed so far.

The Rulers are expected to be briefed on the legal procedures as a hung Parliament has taken place.
