Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh was called by police in Kota Kinabalu again after he was detained for questioning earlier on Friday (April 5).

According to Sinar Harian, Akmal was called in as police had a few more questions for him.

Akmal was arrested at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 10.30am on Friday (April 5).

He was released at around 12.15pm after giving his statement at the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters.

Earlier today, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the police received two police reports against Akmal and the case is now being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.

“Investigation papers will be referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers after the probe is completed,” added Razarudin.

Akmal’s arrest came following criticisms over a picture uploaded on social media showing him wielding a sword.
