Mohd Shafie Apdal as the opposition’s prime minister candidate is an option that needs to be discussed by the Pakatan Harapan presidential council, Amanah and DAP said today.
“Amanah and DAP view this as a new option to realise our efforts to return the people’s mandate given to Pakatan Harapan and Parti Warisan Sabah in the 14th general election.
“Nevertheless, the proposal has to be discussed by the leadership of Amanah and DAP first, and then at the PH presidential council,” the joint statement signed by Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said.
Their statement was issued shortly after Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s statement that Shafie, who is Warisan president and Sabah chief minister, had been unanimously endorsed as prime minister candidate by himself, Amanah, DAP and Warisan at an informal meeting two days ago. – TMI
