Politicians are the reason for the rising racial and religious tensions in the country, said PKR president and Port Dickson MP Anwar Ibrahim
He said the politicians are usually drawn to such topics posted on social media.
He then suggested Putrajaya organise a dialogue to address this issue.
“We need to admit that the rising temperature on this issue is coming from political leaders. That is why we need to hold a meeting or dialogue to ease the situation.

“The ones who become the victims are the people. That is why I do not think this is a problem of the people, but a problem of some among the leadership,” Anwar told the Dewan Rakyat during question time today.
He urged politicians, social activists and the public to play their part by not making racist comments online.
He earlier asked the government what it was doing to curb the issue following a spike in racial and religious topics.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Hanipa Maidin (PH-Sepang) welcomed Anwar’s suggestion and said the government will look into it. – FMT
