Perikatan Nasional (PN) information chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has hinted that he is not contesting in the upcoming state elections.

Personally, he said he wanted to give way to potential young candidates within PN to contest.

“After serving seven terms; three in Gombak, three in Bukit Antarabangsa and one in the Hulu Kelang state constituency, I think the time has come for me to give way to young leaders who have a lot of potential,

“I will continue to provide PN my services and contributions.

“I can see the support for PN is getting stronger and stronger,” he said.

Azmin was commenting on reports that he was planning to contest in Morib.

“I have received many requests not only from Morib but other areas in Selangor. (If nominated) I will leave it to the wisdom of the party leadership,” he said when met at the PN Aidilfitri Open House at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, Selangor State Youth and Culture Complex, in Shah Alam. – NST
