Bersatu has expelled Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan and suspended Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for breaching the party’s constitution and code of conduct.

The party’s disciplinary board also dismissed four division chiefs — Azrudin Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur), and Isa Saidi (Ampang).

The action was reportedly linked to allegations that the group was involved in a “statutory declaration movement” to topple Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, as well as their alleged role in a recent commotion during an official event.

In a statement, the disciplinary board said it had received written complaints from Bersatu members against Wan Saiful, Wan Fayhsal, and the four others. The complaints were investigated, and the respondents were summoned for a hearing on 8 October before disciplinary action was taken.

“The board’s decision was based on investigations conducted and due consideration. The decision was reached without any external interference and in an impartial manner.

“The board calls on all Bersatu members to abide by the party’s constitution and the members’ code of ethics and conduct to safeguard Bersatu’s good name,” it said.

All six individuals have 14 days to appeal the decision.
