A blogger has claimed that certain GE15 candidates are so desperate to win that they were willing to pay proposers to abandon their candidates before the nomination deadline.

“How desperate are some candidates in GE15 to win?” claimed blogger Hussein Abd Hamid, who is better known as steadyaku47.

“Who would have the money to make the proposer to a candidate disappear just thirty minutes before the deadline for that candidate to be nominated?” he wrote in his blog on Monday (Nov 7).

He also alleged that this happened in “the mother of all bahagians (areas)”, Bagan Datuk.

Hussein alleged this was what Tawfik Ismail, a former Sungai Besut MP who is contesting as an Independent candidate, experienced.

A substitute proposer was found for Tawfik 15 minutes before nominations closed.

On the identity of the individual behind it, he said the person had the “motive and the money to make the proposer of a candidate to disappear.

He also claimed that Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri would not be the prime minister if Barisan wins.

In Bagan Datuk, Tawfik is in a four-cornered fight with Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Dr Muhammad Faiz Na’aman of Perikatan Nasional and Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (Pakatan Harapan). – The Star
