Magazine publisher Blu Inc Media Sdn Bhd stops all its digital and print publications beginning today, amid uncertainties following the Covid-19 crisis.
In a letter dated today, signed by its CEO Azliza Ahmad Tajuddin, it cited that “there is little visibility on when we can see recovery from the economic turmoil resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.”
“Our business has already been under tremendous challenge from digital disruptions over the past few years.
“While we have made increasing investment to build our digital capabilities, it is still unclear whether we have gained sufficient traction while the losses continue to increase.”
Blu Inc Media has 17 titles in English, Malay and Chinese, including Harper’s Bazaar, Malaysian Women’s Weekly, Jelita, Female, Her World, Glam and Nuyou.
Save for six staff to assist the company through the process, all others will receive a separate e-mail regarding their employment status. – NST
