A police station in Kajang, Selangor, had turned into a mini nightclub, where the officer-in-charge (OCS) and three of his personnel partied with alcohol together with four women.
Following a public tip-off, a team from Bukit Aman raided the premises and arrested the eight individuals, including a sub-inspector, two corporals, and a support corporal, yesterday evening.
According to Berita Harian, the party took place in a “stress room” on the third floor, where a disco ball light was fitted.
The daily claimed that during the 6pm raid, the eight were found to be dancing and crooning to karaoke.
Among others, the team seized a liquor bottle, five bottles of ketum, lighting and audio equipment as well as lewd photographs depicting one of the policemen with a woman who was among those detained.
Bukit Aman Standards Compliance Integrity Department (JIPS) director Azri Ahmad confirmed the incident.
“The action of the officer, personnel and others involved violates the Covid-19 standard operating procedure.
Section 269 reads: “Whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine or with both.”
Meanwhile, China Press reported that the music was so loud that the eight did not hear the team from Bukit Aman knocking on their door.
