Kelantan Barisan Nasional (BN) today confirmed that former Tumpat member of parliament Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi will contest the parliamentary seat under a BN ticket in the 15th General Election.

State BN chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said Che Abdullah was chosen as a candidate as BN was very confident he can win the Tumpat parliamentary seat.

“Kelantan BN is happy Che Abdullah has accepted our offer. The grassroots in Tumpat welcome him as BN’s candidate,” he said today.

He said Kelantan BN hoped this will give other candidates a tough fight, especially those from Perikatan Nasional (PN).

He said Che Abdullah will receive his appointment letter tomorrow.

Che Abdullah could not be reached for comment at press time.

Che Abdullah is a member of Pas and first won the Tumpat parliamentary seat in the 2018 general election with a 17,500-vote majority.
