The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) has admitted it made a mistake when stating that Selangor had received about 2.9 million Covid-19 vaccine doses as of May 30.

It said the state had received 615,210 doses as of June 1, the exact figure cited by the Selangor government.

In a statement to the CodeBlue health portal, CITF said the number it provided to CodeBlue included both stock in government facilities and partially still in the distributor’s warehouse in Selangor.

“The error in providing the data to CodeBlue is regrettable,” the portal quoted CITF as saying.

Two days ago, Selangor public health committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud rubbished reports over the doses of vaccines received by the state.

Siti Mariah said it was “impossible” for Selangor to have an excess of 2.5 million unused doses.

She said the Selangor Health Department had only received 615,000 vaccine doses as of June 1, with 425,970 jabs already administered.

CITF said today that Selangor had the highest number of vaccines delivered as of June 1, followed by Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya (578,130) and Johor (370,680). – FMT
