Eleven new Covid-19 cases have been reported as at noon today.
This brings the total number of recovered cases to 9,092 or 96.88 percent of the total Covid-19 cases.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the 11, seven were imported where the patients; two Malaysians and five foreigners, contracted the virus abroad.
The patients of the import cases were infected in India (5 cases in Kuala Lumpur), Saudi Arabia (1 case in Kuala Lumpur) and United Kingdom (1 case in Kuala Lumpur), he added.
“Of the four local transmission cases, one involves a foreigner, who is a case from the newly-identified cluster today which is the Semenyih 2 Immigration Detention Depot (DTI) in Selangor.
“This patient was screened before being sent home to its country of origin at the Beranang Temporary Detention Centre in Selangor.
“The three others are Malaysians where the cases were detected in Kedah (1 case from the Telaga Cluster), Selangor (1 case from the Semenyih 2 DTI Cluster) and in Negri Sembilan (1 case from the Semenyih 2 DTI Cluster),” said Dr Noor Hisham today, in a press conference.
He said four patients are currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit, with three requiring ventilator assistance.
Nine patients have recovered from the Covid-19 infection today. A total of 165 active infectivity case patients have been isolated and treated.
There are no new deaths reported today and the death toll remains at 128 cases.
