Covid-19: 159 New Cases, Total 2,320 Cases, Death Toll Now 27

Latest fatality is a 61-year-old Malaysian man.

Health director-general Datuk Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced 159 new positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia today, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 2,320.

He also said there was one more death from Covid-19 this morning. The death toll in Malaysia from the virus now stands at 27.

He added 61 people had been discharged and allowed to return home this morning, bringing the total number of those discharged after treatment to 320.

As of today, there are 73 coronavirus patients in the intensive care unit, 54 of whom are on ventilators.

Dr Noor Hisham said the latest fatality is a Malaysian man aged 61.

“He had a history of diabetes and high blood pressure.

“He was treated at Tangkak Hospital on March 24 and was transferred to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar on March 25.

“He was declared dead at 10.50am today.”
