Malaysia recorded 1,704 new Covid-19 cases as at noon today, a drop from yesterday’s high of 2,295.
The new infections take the tally of coronavirus cases since Covid-19 struck Malaysia to 119,077 while there are 21,365 active cases.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, on his official Twitter account, said 1,699 new cases are local transmissions.
The number of daily recoveries today is 2,726 where the total of patients who have been discharged stood to 97,218.
Noor Hisham said there are 124 patients warded at the Intensive Care Unit where 51 are intubated.
There are 11 new deaths today of which 10 are Malaysians, raising the death toll to 494.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) detected nine more new clusters today with five being workplace clusters, bringing the total number of clusters nationwide to 532 with active clusters monitored at 232.
