Covid-19: 30 New Cases, One Death

Malaysia recorded 30 new Covid-19 cases today, the lowest number since the movement control order (MCO) was enforced, Health Director Director General Noor Hisham said today.

All 30 infections were from local transmission. No imported cases were reported today.

The previous record low was 31 in April 28.

“Twenty-one (of them) were detected at enhanced movement control order (EMCO) localities,” he told the daily press briefing on Covid-19.

Of the new infections, 24 also involved foreigners.

This brings the number of total infections in the country to 6,383.

One death was also reported today – a 47-year-old man who was treated Sungai Buloh Hospital – bringing the total to 106.

Eighty-three patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,567.

After deaths and recoveries, the number of active cases is 1,710.
