New cases continue to drop as death toll hits 100.

Malaysia reported just 31 new Covid-19 cases today, the lowest number since the movement control order (MCO) was initiated on March 18.

The last time daily new cases were below 30 was back in March 12, before the second wave of Covid-19 infection here.

As of 12pm today, the total number of Covid-19 positive cases is 5,851 cases, with 1,719 of them active cases.

Seventy-five patients have recovered and were discharged today, more than double the number of 31 new cases reported, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He added that 4,032 people have recovered from the virus.

“Currently, there are 36 patients in intensive care, of whom 17 require respiratory support,” he said.

However, one more death was recorded, bringing the national death toll to 100.

Noor Hisham said a 67-year-old man, a stroke survivor with a heart condition, was receiving treatment at Sg Buloh Hospital but died this morning at 9.40am.
