The Health Ministry registered 47 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon today, bringing the tally of infections in the country to 6,941.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new cases had raised the total number of active cases to 1,213.
“Of the total 47 new cases, 21 are imported and 26 are local. Of the new local cases, 17 are foreigners,” he said at his daily press conference today.
Dr Noor Hisham said 44 cases had recovered and were discharged today, raising the cumulative number of recovered cases to 5,615 or 80.9 percent.
“Currently, there are 13 patients in intensive care, six of whom require respiratory support,” he said.
He also noted that no new deaths were reported today, and the number of Covid-19 fatalities remained at 113 cases (1.62 percent).
