The Health Ministry logged 589 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, pushing Malaysia’s cumulative total cases to 18,129.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 409 more patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus cluster named after 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya has grown to 132 cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said 107 of cases in the Utama cluster were foreign nationals.
The total infected are 87 security guards, 18 cleaners, 16 mall workers, six shoppers and five family members of a positive patient.
The index patient is a 28-year-old Nepalese security guard at the mall.
He was screened and tested positive on October 8, after experiencing symptoms of fever, cough and cold.
