The Health Ministry today recorded six new Covid-19 cases, out of which only one was locally transmitted.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the five remaining cases were imported infections.
“The import cases involve four Malaysians and one foreigner who was allowed to enter on work matters.

“The local case involved a Malaysian who was screened before starting work,” he said at his press conference today.
To date, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 8,606, with 191 active cases.
Dr Noor Hisham also said 23 patients had recovered and discharged from hospitals, increasing the total number of recoveries to 8,294 cases or 96.4%.
There are two coronavirus patients in intensive care, and both do not require respiratory support.
He also said no deaths had been recorded for 12 straight days, with the death toll remaining at 121, or 1.41% of total infections.
