Efforts to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the country continues to show good results, as zero local transmission was recorded in the last 24 hours for the second day in a row.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said only six new cases were reported today, all of which were imported cases, comprising five locals and one non-citizen who was a permanent resident.

“This brings the cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in Malaysia to 8,683, while the number of active cases is 63,” he said in a statement today.
He said 13 cases had recovered and were allowed to be discharged today, bringing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 8,499 or 97.9% of the overall number of cases.
Currently, there are two Covid-19 positive cases being treated in Intensive Care Units, with one of them requiring breathing assistance.
No deaths have been reported today, leaving the total number of Covid 19-related casualties at 121 cases, or 1.39% of the total number of cases.
