Malaysia recorded 6,806 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the highest daily count yet since the start of the pandemic, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Selangor continued its record of being the state with the highest number of daily cases, at 2,277, followed by Kuala Lumpur (655) and Johor (615).
The previous all-time daily high was yesterday when 6,075 new infections were registered.
The latest figure puts Malaysia’s nationwide total at 492,302 positive cases recorded since the start of the pandemic.
