She alleges a malicious attempt to defame her as a public figure and tarnish her family’s image with the lies.
Kota Belud MP Munirah Majilis has denied a blogger’s allegation that she was having an affair with one of her aides, a married man.
In a post on Facebook, Munirah also denied she had contributed to the aide’s marital issues and said she would be lodging a police report against the blogger.
The blogger claimed that the aide, believed to be Munirah’s public relations officer, had choked and beaten up his wife after she found out about the affair through their WhatsApp chats.
It was reported that Munirah discovered the article through a link sent to her by a friend on Whatsapp.
“I have nothing to do with any of the claims and am not involved in any way,” said Munirah, who is Deputy Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Minister.
“The article by the blogger was maliciously intended to destroy my integrity as an elected representative of the people.”
Munirah added that she lodged a report on Sunday (Sept 23) to clear her name and her family’s image.
“This report was made so that the police can start investigating the blogger,” she said.
Munirah is expected to hold a press conference about the matter here later on Monday (Sept 24).
Munirah, of Parti Warisan Sabah, is also chief of Wirawati, the party’s women’s wing.
