Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today as the rumour mill over the country’s political situation goes into overdrive.

The New Straits Times has learnt that Dr Mahathir will meet with the King at the Istana Negara today.
Al-Sultan Abdullah, who had earlier graced a golf tournament in Shah Alam, arrived at the palace via helicopter at 4.30pm.
Earlier today, Dr Mahathir – who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairman – chaired a special meeting at Bersatu’s party headquarters at the Yayasan Selangor building, the outcome of which is expected to impact the PH administration.
Meanwhile, a motorcade of about 20 vehicles, accompanied by traffic police, was seen entering Istana Negara at 5.30pm.
Instead of using the main entrance, the motorcade – comprising Proton Perdanas and Toyota Alphards – entered the palace grounds through another ingress.
