Former director-general of Personal Data Protection Department Khalidah Mohd Darus was killed when she was allegedly attacked by her autistic son.

One of her neighbours, Nadhilah Zulkifli, 19, said, Khalidah’s scream for help was heard by an eight-year-old child who had alerted her father.
It was learned the child’s father had asked around via the Whatsapp platform.

“The victim has just moved here more than a month ago before Ramadan. (During the attack) she was alone with her autistic son because her husband works in Johor.
“When she called for help, she had injuries on her face. One hour later, her other son who works in Kuala Lumpur arrived and asked the neighbours to help in calming down his agitated brother,” she told reporters.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Ali said the forensic team had discovered that there were no stab wounds on the victim.
“The victim had bruises on her arms, stomach and mouth with broken teeth.
“Her nose was also broken and bleeding with a cut on her forehead,” he said when contacted today.
He said the victim was believed to have been attacked by the son based on the signs of struggle at the wall near the door of the house.

“There were also traces of blood found next to the sofa in the living hall. The victim was also believed to have been dragged into a room near the kitchen,” he added.
Initial investigation showed that the suspect had mopped the floor based on droplets of water mixed with blood found in the kitchen, room and the living hall.
Aziz said the suspect had been sent to the Kajang Hospital for psychiatric evaluation. – NST
