Former health minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad will head a Selangor task force on curbing the spread of Covid-19 in the state, Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said.
Dzulkefly has accepted the appointment to chair the new special action council on the coronavirus, the Selangor MB said at a press conference today in various media reports.

Amirudin said the council was established after the state government found that “60% of the 117 positive cases of Covid-19 are those living in Selangor,” referring to the total number of infections in Malaysia as of yesterday.
The council, which comprises health professionals, and state health department and disaster unit officials, will find ways to prevent the virus from spreading.
The council will also conduct awareness and advocacy programmes on preventing the virus’ spread in schools and public areas, Amirudin added.
Dr Dzulkefly was health minister for 21 months until the Pakatan Harapan government collapsed and was replaced by Perikatan Nasional last week, as the result of political manoeuvring by some parties to form a stronger Malay-Muslim government. – TMI
