The former health minister said the public should take stringent measures at the right time, based on the current virus situation.

“This includes practising social distancing, such as in Singapore and South Korea, and not the lockdown model being used in China and Italy,” he said in a Facebook post.

Dzulkefly said Malaysians should exchange the right messages, to ensure the public take the right measures in curbing the spread of the virus.

The Kuala Selangor MP then listed several actions that should be practised during this crisis:

  1. Stay at home and only go out for work, to clinic, or for other needs;
  2. Cancel or postpone mass gatherings exceeding 50 people at one time;
  3. Employers should encourage workers to work from home for a certain period of time;
  4. Extend the duration of school holidays to prevent the spread of Covid-19 among pupils. Universities urged to conduct online classes;
  5. Don’t resort to panic buying.

“Follow the advice of the government. Do not trust any unverified information,” he added. – TMI
