Former inspector-general of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar says that he has stepped down as chairman of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.

According to Sin Chew Daily, Khalid said that he put in his resignation on July 17 and was now “unemployed”.

He, however, did not disclose the reason for his resignation.

He was appointed as the national public transport firm’s chairman on Sept 5, 2017, by the previous Barisan Nasional administration after he retired from his position as the nation’s top cop.

Khalid, who will turn 61 this year, retired as IGP last September when he turned 60.

He is the latest in a long list of resignations or removals from key government agencies and GLCs since Pakatan Harapan formed the federal government.

In a related development, it was reported that Prasarana president and group chief executive officer Masnizam Hisham may be departing from the company as well.
