Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has lodged a report in response to allegations that went viral on the “Edisi Siasat” Telegram channel that he sexually accosted a woman at Plaza Damas in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.
Ahmad Faizal in a statement said that he had made the report at the Sri Hartamas police station at 2.20pm, today.
He had said that a viral police report linking his name and along with other accusations was made by certain quarters.
“I can confirm that these accusations are completely untrue, and I believe there are elements of criminal sedition and defamation.
“The document mentions the time, date and location of certain ‘interactions’.

“I also informed the police that on the date and time of the alleged interaction, I was in Negri Sembilan as I was carrying out official duties as Bersatu deputy president.
“There are many witnesses who can confirm my presence,” he said.
Ahmad Faizal also added that he had full faith in the police in carrying out the investigation.
“I have the right to take legal action against the parties involved.
“I hope that during this campaigning period, we only talk about politics and policies that can propel the country. Personal attacks do not provide any benefit and only waste the time and resources of the police,” he said.
In the viral police report, the woman said that she was walking to an office in Plaza Damas on July 24 when a man she claimed to be Ahmad Faizal uttered derogatory remarks against her.
“I was very angry and embarrassed, and I continued walking to Blok M (Plaza Damas) as there were a few other individuals looking at me. I then told the story to my husband.
“My husband then wanted to meet Ahmad Faizal as it concerns me and my family’s dignity. Upon my husband’s advice, I was told to go to the police station to lodge a police report for my safety,” the complainant said in the report that went viral. – NST
