A female Grab car driver claimed trial in Penang yesterday with hurling expletives at two policemen, with the intention of humiliating them.
Jabiah Norani, 33, who was unrepresented, was charged with two offences.
On the first count, she is alleged to have said “You want RM20 and RM50, I can give” to Constable Abdul Wafiy Azmi Mohamad Idrus with the intention of humiliating him.
The incident took place near the entrance of the Penang International Airport at about 12.30am on Sept 3.
On the second charge, she is alleged to have uttered “You Chinese eat pigs” to Lance Corporal Mohamad Noor Firdaus Abu Talib with the intention of humiliating him at the same time and place.
Jabiah was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum of five years in jail or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
The magistrate allowed bail at RM4,000 with one surety and advised the accused to appoint a lawyer before the next mention on Oct 10.
Jabiah was released after she posted bail later in the evening.
