Ten issues that must be addressed to resolve trust deficit among Harapan supporters.

DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has released a letter he sent to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, urging the Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) chairperson to honour the coalition’s election pledges and defend the rights of its supporters.

The letter, dated 8 Dec and written in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin, outlines 10 issues Lim believes must be addressed to resolve what he described as a trust deficit among Harapan supporters.

“With all due respect, I refer to the subject matter stated above and also apologise for my absence from this week’s Harapan presidential council meeting,” the Bagan MP wrote.

“There is now a crisis of confidence in the government among Harapan supporters, which can only be restored through the formulation of new government policies that protect their interests without disadvantaging any other groups.”

Among the 10 points listed, Lim urged Anwar to continue fulfilling Harapan’s 15th general election manifesto, allocate 10 percent of the national budget designated for bumiputera to non-bumiputera communities without reducing the former’s original share, and resolve Sabah’s 40 percent revenue entitlement issue.

Lim had earlier shared a speech delivered at a Penang event, where he said some felt the prime minister had not done enough.
