The cops have summoned PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to have his statement recorded after a police report was lodged against him.

A source said the Marang MP will be at the Sentul police headquarters at 3pm today.

Critics have demanded action over the controversial remarks Hadi previously made, which were deemed racially inflammatory.

The Islamist party chief, however, was quoted in recent reports as being unperturbed by the mounting complaints regarding his words and said he was ready to go to the police headquarters and had no issues with anyone lodging reports against him.

“Go on and lodge a police report. I’m willing to go to Bukit Aman, it’s all right,” he was quoted as saying by news portal Malaysiakini after a ceramah for the Tioman state seat election in Pahang last week.
