Social media users have been left with a sense of deja vu after watching Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announce his new Cabinet today.

Retaining nearly every member from the previous Perikatan Nasional-led government helmed by Muhyiddin Yassin, netizens on Twitter felt there was hardly any difference now that Ismail had taken over the premiership.
“What difference did him (Muhyiddin) stepping down make,” asked @hannaalkaf.
PKR’s Kota Anggerik assemblyman Najwan Halimi (@NajwanHalimi) said it was “same old, same old” while another user, @Elill_E, questioned whether Ismail was just reading out the previous Cabinet list.
“Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Cabinet #Malaysia,” tweeted @itshikalhakim.
Activist Nalini Elumalai (@nalinielumalai) tweeted, “Welcome back, incompetency!” while Marina Mahathir @netraKL said, “Goodness me, what an unimaginative Cabinet.”
“Here was your chance to do better and you blew it. Kept all the worst non-performers. Well, good luck! #KerajaaanGagal,” she said.
Among the notable differences were the switch in portfolios between Khairy Jamaluddin and Dr Adham Baba, who are now the new health minister, and science, technology and innovation minister, respectively.
“KJ and Adham Baba have swapped portfolios,” noted @DrMathen. “Let’s wait for Adham Baba’s plans for science and innovation, I’m sure it will be interesting.”
In response to Marina’s tweet, @Mochi9821 congratulated Ismail for “your efforts in maintaining #kerajaangagal”.
“UMNO has now officially inherited #kerajaangagal. Don’t blame others during GE15.” – FMT
