Chai, who is also a former aide to former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, arrived at about 10am in a white vehicle.

On Monday (April 27), media reports stated that Chai would be present to assist in investigations into a RM1.11 billion semiconductor project.

Previously, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that Chai’s return had been communicated to the commission.

The MACC had earlier said it was tracking Chai in connection with the investigation.

Meanwhile, law firm Kesavan Advocates and Solicitors, which represents Chai, said in a statement that arrangements for his return were made after obtaining approval from his employer in London.

The firm added that it had been in communication with the MACC to facilitate the investigation process.
