The RM85.5 million allocation proposed for the Special Affairs Department (Jasa) under the 2021 Budget has been slashed by more than half.
This was after Deputy Finance Minister 1 Datuk Abd Rahim Bakri announced an amendment to the amount proposed for the Communications and Multimedia Ministry under the 2021 Budget.
“The amendment follows a reduction of RM45 million of the proposed amount for the expansion of Jasa which is under the purview of the ministry,” he said before the debate on the allocation for the ministry under the 2021 Budget commenced at the committee level in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah had previously given his assurance that the allocation proposed for the revival of Jasa next year would be reduced. – NST
