A teen stabbed to death one person and injured another in his bid to flee after raping a single mother today at Kampung Mujur, Jelawat.

The 19-year-old suspect was believed to have sneaked into the home of the mother of five before raping her in her room at about 7am.
Deputy Kelantan Police Chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Mohammad Piah said the 40-year-old single mother had informed them that the suspect had held a knife to her throat before proceeding to rape her.
“After raping the victim, the suspect sought to flee the scene. However, the single mother screamed, which in turn woke up two men sleeping in the living room and the kitchen and the duo then immediately pounced on the suspect in an effort to nab him.
“However, the 28-year-old male individual was killed after he was stabbed on his stomach and chest, whereas the other was severely hurt on the back, allowing the suspect to make his escape,” he said.
Abdullah said the remains of the dead male victim was sent to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZII) for post-mortem, whereas the injured male victim was sent to the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian for treatment.
He said the rape victim who became a widow following the death of her husband was staying at the house with her children aged between two and 17-years-old.
The authorities are still seeking to ascertain the link between the suspect and the three victims, with the case being investigated under Section 302 for murder and Section 376KK for rape under the Penal Code.
“The single mother had revealed that she had bumped into the suspect several times before this in the village. They also did know each other,” he said.

Abdullah said they were also looking for another 19-year-old to assist in their investigation into the case.
He urged Ahmad Azwanizam Zamri, 19, from Bachok to present himself to any police station or those who have any knowledge on the whereabouts of the teen to inform the authorities to assist in their investigation. – NST
