DAP lawmaker Lim Lip Eng lodged a police report against Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang on his claims against non-Malays and non-Muslims which could threaten national unity.
The Kepong member of parliament lodged a report at Kepong police station earlier today calling for the Pas leader to be probed under several legal provisions including the Sedition Act.
“I have called for investigations under Section 499, 504, 505 (b), and 505 (c) of the Penal Code, Sedition Act 1948, Communication and Multimedia Act 1998 and others,” he said in a statement today.
He was the first individual reported to lodge a report on the matter.
DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng had urged Malaysians to lodge reports against the Pas chief because the latter’s statements against non-Malays and non-Muslims were allegedly provocative and could disrupt, destabilise and destroy the unity government.
This comes after several Pas leaders signed the Malay Proclamation document. – NST
