Transport minister Loke Siew Fook says he is on good terms with his predecessor, MCA president Wee Ka Siong, despite their political differences.
According to China Press, Loke, who has debated Wee in Parliament on transport issues, said they were friends.
“There are times when I would have to sound a bit more aggressive (when debating in Parliament),” he said during a welcoming ceremony at the transport ministry this morning.
“(But) I have no problems with Wee. We still call each other and chat when we meet in Parliament,” he said, adding there were no grudges between them.
Loke took over from Wee, who helmed the ministry following the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in February 2020.
Prior to that, Loke served as transport minister when PH won the 14th general election. – FMT
