Claims that Zahid’s action insults disciplinary board and chairman.

Umno supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam claimed that it was party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who stopped the disciplinary hearing against former party vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, resulting in the resignation of Tan Sri Apandi Ali as disciplinary board chairman.

In a statement today, Lokman praised Apandi as a man of principle.

“The Umno disciplinary board is supposed to be independent and its investigation cannot be blocked, even by party president.

“The party president’s action contravenes the party’s constitution and insults the position of the disciplinary board and its chair.” – Sin Chew Daily
