Umno leader Lokman Noor Adam has been remanded for a day to be investigated for allegedly threatening Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, police said.

“An investigation commenced on November 1 on a video uploaded onto Lokman’s Facebook page,” said Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Huzir Mohamed in a statement today.

The video allegedly contains elements of criminal intimidation, with abusive words used against Muhyiddin’s leadership, said Huzir.

According to police, Lokman is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

“Lokman was arrested at 11pm on November 1 and the gadget used to upload the video has been confiscated.

“He will be remanded for one day,” said Huzir.
