Video of a man molesting seven-year-old girl goes viral on social media.
In the video, first uploaded on the Durian Media Facebook page, a little girl is seen seated on the lap of a man, while he repeatedly kisses her on her cheeks.
The man is also seen fondling the chest of the girl beneath her red dress while loud music plays in the background.
The child’s face is not censored in the video.
The footage is believed to have been shot at a funfair in Taman Ria, Sg Petani, Kedah, at 11.30pm on Jan 20.
Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Saifi Abdul Hamid said police received two reports of the incident today, one being from the girl’s mother.
Preliminary investigation showed that the man accused of committing the act is a friend of the girl’s family, according to The New Straits Times
“The man had gone to the woman’s house in Sungai Lalang at 11pm Saturday and asked her if he could take the girl out to buy some food. He brought the girl home about two hours later,” Saifi was quoted saying.
Apparently, the woman had confronted the man after she saw a video of the incident on Facebook yesterday evening.
He allegedly told her that he was sorry before fleeing the scene.
The woman lodged a report at the Sungai Petani police station at 2.50am today.
Saifi said the girl has been sent to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for medical examination.
The case has been classified under Section 14(a) of Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
