The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) expressed disappointment for not being invited to attend the first Unity Government Secretariat meeting at Menara Dato’ Onn last night (Feb 7).
Muda secretary-general Amir Hariri Abd Hadi said they did not receive any invitation by letter, message or email.
“We only knew that it was happening from the media,” he said via a response to his tweet on Twitter earlier today (Feb 8).
Last night, the first Unity Government Secretariat meeting took place, which was chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attended by all leaders of parties that form the unity government.
But there were no top leaders or party representatives from Muda at the meeting.
“Word had it that the Muda logo was there at the meeting, but we did not know anything about it. There was no invitation, there was no alert. The next thing we knew was that there were decisions.
“Perhaps at least a briefing on the outcome of the meeting can be given?” he said.
During the press conference after the meeting, Anwar said the setting up of three committees involving all parties in the government and the committees are the Strategy Committee, the Election Committee as well as the Politics and Government Agenda Monitoring Committee.

The proposal to set up the secretariat before this was approved by the government and made known by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during the recent Umno General Assembly. – NST
