Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah this morning arrived from London, where he had been receiving medical treatment since last month.

According to a tweet by caretaker Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari, he welcomed the sultan and his wife Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin upon their return.
“Alhamdulillah, Tuanku Sultan’s medical procedures had gone well. His Majesty also looked happy and healthy,” he said.
Amirudin’s social media post did not mention anything about whether a date has been set for the swearing-in ceremony for the next Selangor menteri besar.
However, it is believed that it will be held soon following Sultan Sharafuddin’s return.
Amirudin had been the caretaker menteri besar since the dissolution of the Selangor state legislative assembly on June 23 to make way for fresh state polls.
While it has yet to be confirmed if Amirudin will continue holding the state’s top executive office, Harapan chairperson and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced last month that the Sungai Tua state assemblyperson will be retained.
According to Bernama, Sultan Sharafuddin had been in London since July 28 for a surgery and treatment called holmium laser enucleation of the prostate.
