No visitors, lion dances for Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year celebrations are limited to only among family members, and may not feature guests and lion dance performances, Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.

People are not allowed to visit one another, as is customary, during the festival, which falls on February 11 and 12.

“Lion dances and other cultural performances are also not permitted during the Chinese New Year period,” he said in his daily media briefing.

As for the traditional prayers at the temples, he said only five temple committee members are allowed to be in the building at a time.
