Malaysians will be notified by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) via SMS or email regarding their eligibility for financial assistance under the government’s Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) economic stimulus package.
“All BPN recipients will receive SMS or email in stages beginning April 1 regarding the notification of their eligibility for BPN.
“If you receive that SMS or email, further checks are not needed with IRB. Thank you,” it said in a statement posted on Facebook Wednesday (April 1).
Under the stimulus package, households below RM4,000 will receive RM1,600 in cash incentive and that RM1,000 will be paid in April.
Households earning between RM4,001 and RM8,000 will receive RM1,000 cash incentive. The first payment of RM500 will be paid next month.
Single individuals earning RM2,000 and below will receive RM800, with RM500 credited into their account in April.
Meanwhile, single individuals earning between RM2,001 and RM4,000 will receive a total of RM500. The first payment of RM250 will also be made in April.
Every student studying at an institute of higher education will receive RM200.
Yesterday, the LHDN was inundated with online applications from those seeking cash under Putrajaya’s Covid-19 stimulus package.
It clarified that money would be automatically paid to those qualified as long as they have tax numbers.
In a statement, LHDN said only those without tax accounts need to register online.
It said recipients of the Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) cash aid will automatically get their payments.

https://bpn.hasil.gov.my.
If the status shows ‘off the record’, they may click on the ‘New Application’ button, it said.
New online applications are open until April 30.
However, it said that due to high traffic at its official portals, people may not be able to log in to its website and advised them to do so during off-peak hours.
