A video uploaded online showing a violent thunderstorm has created unnecessary panic.
The incident was said to have happened in Kertih in the late evening where a thunderstorm ripped the roof of large petrochemical holding tanks and debris sucked up by what appeared to be a cyclone.
Police said they were aware of the video that has gone viral but no report on such an incident was lodged with the Kertih or Paka police station.
According to police, road users, especially outsiders, tend to get excited when they see such incidents which police said are quite common during strong winds.
With the flare pit in the background adding drama to the video, it is no wonder that many people thought it was a real cyclone.
