Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM)’s internal conflict between its two leaders has been resolved following a visit to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) office this morning.
According to PBM’s communications department, Larry Sng and Zuraida Kamaruddin reached a consensus today at the RoS meeting, just three days before nomination day for the 15th general election (GE15).
It was decided Sng would sign the watikah (appointment letter) for the party’s GE15 candidates.
“Other matters related to party administration will be discussed and resolved after GE15,” the department said in a statement.
Meanwhile, it said PBM’s list of candidates will be announced very soon.
PBM deputy president Haniza Mohamed Talha previously claimed Zuraida was PBM’s legitimate president after an announcement at the party’s annual general conference on Oct 7.
Sng on the other hand claimed he never resigned or relinquished his position as president, apart from announcing he would contest using the PBM party symbol in GE15.
He insisted that he is still the valid party president, which was later confirmed by the ROS.
Sng then suspended Zuraida and 12 supreme council members on Oct 28 for allegedly undermining the interest of the party and its leadership.
He also suspended PBM secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad and information chief Zakaria Abdul Hamid from the party.
Following that, Zuraida on Sunday announced that the party would go solo in GE15, after a failed attempt at cooperation with BN. – Malaysiakini
