PKR has issued a show-cause letter to another pro-Mohamed Azmin Ali leader for allegedly criticising party president Anwar Ibrahim.

Khalid Jaafar was hauled up over two Facebook postings in July.

He is the adviser to Azmin, the economic affairs minister and PKR deputy president. Khalid is also the Selangor PKR strategic director.

Khalid’s show-cause letter follows the one sent to PKR vice president Zuraida Kamaruddin over her criticism against Anwar and leaders aligned to him last month.

The party’s disciplinary board has given Khalid, a former press officer to Anwar, 14 days to respond and the deadline is February 4.

Board chairman Ahmad Kasim said the action was initiated following complaints against Khalid.

“We have looked into the nature of the complaint and decided that there is basis,” Ahmad said in his letter dated January 21.

Khalid is accused of causing negative perception against Anwar through his postings on July 18 and 24 last year.

The Malaysian Insight has contacted Ahmad for further details.

In the July 18 post, Khalid advised Anwar to retire from politics due to his age factor. A week later, he questioned Anwar’s capability to be the prime minister after failing to control his own party.

The Malaysian Insight previously reported that PKR’s political bureau discussed Khalid’s views and recommended disciplinary action.

On January 15, the board issued a show-cause letter to Zuraida over her speech in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on December 8 last year in which she allegedly insulted party leaders, including Anwar.

Yesterday, 46 senior party leaders, including Azmin, issued a statement urging the party to drop the case against Zuraida. – TMI
