PKR has vowed to win back the Gombak and Ampang parliamentary seats in the next general election.

The seats are now held by sacked party deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali and vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin. The two are now allied with Bersatu in the new ruling Perikatan Nasional pact.

PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin today reminded Azmin and Zuraida that the two seats are traditionally PKR seats, and that the duo had betrayed the party by defecting.

“We wish to remind these traitors that these are PKR territories. We will fight to win back Ampang and Gombak in the coming general election,” he told a PKR convention in Ampang today.

Shamsul added that PKR will continue purging the party of defectors to keep it strong.

“We have rid ourselves of more than 400 traitors, and we will continue this process in phases.

“This is a good time to clean the party to keep us united and strong,” he said.

He also said that PKR will not stop anyone who does not believe in its leadership from leaving the party.

“We are undergoing several phases of maturing the party…this includes keeping those loyal to the party and getting rid of others who have wavered in their support.
