A cook was found murdered at his home in Taman Saujana, Ipoh.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the decomposing body of Wong Keng Yee, 50, had been found by his relatives on Thursday (Jan 7) around noon.

“The victim’s niece and her mother had come to the house to clean the place.

“When they arrived, they smelled a foul stench coming from the house and broke the door to enter.

“They found the victim in a room and called the police,” he told reporters when met at the house on Friday (Jan 8).

ACP A Asmadi said the police initially found no signs of foul play during the initial investigation.

“It was after the post-mortem report that we learned that he had multiple bruises on his head, stomach, arm and back.

“He also had bleeding in his brain,” he said, adding that the injuries were caused by blunt force trauma.

“We returned to the house with our forensics team and found several blood blots using forensic methods.

“The place had been cleaned up so the blood could not be seen by the naked eye,” he added.

ACP A Asmadi said police are appealing to anyone with information on the incident.

“The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he added. – The Star
